The World Bank has approved a new $200 million project for the improvement of electricity supply in Iraq. The project will support the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Iraq's electricity grid through installation of new power lines and substations to generate an increased and more reliable electricity supply for more than 2.5 million Iraqis currently suffering from regular shortages in Basra, Al-Muthanna, Thi Qar and Missan governorates.
