Iraq's Basra Gas Company (BGC) has awarded a contract to construct a natural gas liquids (NGL) to China's Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation (CPECC). CPECC, a subsidiary of CNPC, will be responsible for the construction, installation and site works of the plant, with the development of the new facility to help BGC achieve 40% increases in gas production capacity by contributing to a reduction in gas flaring, whilst increasing dry gas supply and NGL export capabilities. The plant will be built in Ar Ratawi west of Basra and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020.
