Angolan state oil company Sonangol has increased oil production at the Qayara field it operates in Nineveh province, south of Mosul, Northern Iraq.
The producer, which owns a 75% state in both the regions Qayara and Najmah oilfields, has revealed that production flows at Qayara have now reached 40,000 barrels per day (bpd).
Sonangol has also revealed plans to continue significant production increases with the company targeting to reach 230,000 bpd of production from a combination of both fields.
The oilfields hold estimated reserves of in excess of 1 billion barrels of oil with Sonangol operating in partnership with the North Oil Company (25% stake).
