Iraq's Electricity Imports from Iran to Continue Throughout 2019

Iraq Minister of Electricity Louay al-Khateeb has revelaed that imports from Iran will continue until the end of 2019

Iraqi Minister of Electricity Louay al-Khateeb has revealed the Iraq will continue to import electricity from Iran until the end of 2019.

Iraq will import an average of 1100 megawatts of electricity from its neighbor, with Iraq relying on these imports to meet its daily energy needs.

al-Khateeb also revealed that the imports from Iran will only be temporary until the end of 2019 as the country implements a number of power and gas projects with international companies to increase production and reduce its reliance on power imports.
