GE has completed work on an upgrade to Iraq's Al Qudus power plant, with the plant now producing an increase of 125 megawatts of power following the installation of an advanced 9E gas turbine.
In addition to the upgrade work, GE will provide maintenance services for seven 9E gas turbines within the plant for the duration of 2019. The service agreement is expected to deliver a more reliable power source from Al Qudus as the plant seeks to maintain output of up to 875 megawatts throughout the year.
The benefits of using GE's 9E turbines include their flexibility to be operated by a range of different fuel types, allowing power plants to generate stable power using liquid fuels in the absence of gas supply.
