A delegation of officials from Saudi Arabia have reportedly visited Baghdad to discuss plans to move forward the construction of a new 100,000 capacity football stadium in the country.
Following a friendly football match between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in 2018, King Salman pledged to build the new stadium in Iraq which will eclipse the Basra Sports City which has a capacity of around 65,000.
The new stadium is planned to be built as an integrated sports city with the project to be established under the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council.
