Iraq's Ajil Oilfield Back In Production

Oilfield repairs have been completed following damage caused by Islamic State group

Iraq has completed repairs on the Ajil oilfield, with the asset back producing 7,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The oilfield, located near Tikrit, has been offline after being torched by militants from Islamic State in 2015. Oil minister Jabar al-Luaibi has revealed the oilfield aims to increase production to 17,000 bpd by the end of the year.

The site has also been producing 100 million cubic feet of gas per day following earlier repairs, with the gas produced to be used for electricity generation.
