Kurdish Charity Delivers Water To Basra

Barzani Charity Foundation delivered 20 trucks of bottled water on Thursday

The Barzani Charity Foundation, based in Kurdistan, has provided dozens of trucks of clean water to the Iraqi province of Basra as the local government calls on oil companies to help ease the regions water crisis.

Reports of water poisoning, due to salinity and pollution, are increasing as Basra inhabitants continue to struggle with a lack of basis services which led to mass protests in July. It is reported that around 14,000 people in the region have suffered poisoning as a result of dirty water.
