The Iraqi Oil Tankers Company Exports the First Crude Shipment After Stopping Since 1991.

The Shipment is 2 Million Barrels and the Iraqi Oil Tankers Company will Transport it to the United States to a Company Contracting with SOMO.

The ministry of oil declared the shipping and exportation of the first crude oil shipment through the southern ports after 3 decades of stoppage.

   Mr. Hussain Allawi the director general of the company said that this step comes under the guidance of Mr. Jabbar Ali Al-Luiebi the minister of oil to re-activate the Iraqi oil tankers company to transport the crude oil & the oil products to the world. The company is also planning to build an integrated fleet of oil tankers to bring back the glory of the company as a national transporter.

   Mr. Allawi said also that the company have made many agreements with the Arab marine transportation company as a step to build this sector which stopped in 1991. The agreements includes the associated cooperation and the training of the national staff as 100 trainees every year to administrate the fleet during the next period.

   Mr. Assim Jihad the spokesman of the ministry said that the shipment is 2 million barrels and the Iraqi oil tankers company will transport it to the United States to a company contracting with SOMO. He said also that the company gained recently the ISO certificate, which is a significant step to activate the company and shift it from a loser to a winner company by activating the oil products & crude transportation.
