Kurdistan to Receive 5 Million Liters of Fuel Per Day From Iraq Government

Move designed to alleviate increasing fuel prices

The Iraq Government will send 5 million liters of fuel per day to the Kurdistan region, under a new agreement.

According to Ali Rasheed, head of Erbil’s provincial council, Baghdad will send 2 million liters daily to Erbil and Sulaimani province, with a further 1 million liters per day to be sent to Dohuk.

KAR Group, based in the Kurdistan region, which currently refines oil for the Iraqi Government will provide the delivery which aims to keep fuel prices in the range of 600 and 650 dinars per liter.

This deal is an alternative to Baghdad subsidizing fuel prices for the Kurdistan region.
