The petroleum contracts & licensing directorate of the ministry of oil declared the qualification of 5 different international companies, from 8 companies,
The companies have presented for the qualification to participate in the project of explore, develop and produce from the borderline explored blocks which was declared by the ministry of oil.
Mr. Assim Jihad the spokesman of the ministry of oil said that the recently qualified companies will participate with the qualified international companies in the previous licensing rounds which are 21 multinational companies (Asian, European and American) to compete on the project of developing & producing from 9 onshore & offshore borderline explored blocks.
He said also that the petroleum contracts & licensing directorate depended 4 basic criteria to qualify the participant companies to compete on the project which are (the financial, economic, legal, technical, training and the health, safety and environment criteria). He also pointed on that the companies have presented their documents during the period from August the 15th of 2017 to November the 9th of 2017. The companies was 8 companies and their documents were studied by the ministry of oil according the procedures. And 5 of them was qualified according to the standards.
Mr. Jabbar Ali Hussein Al-Luiebi the minister of oil reviewed during his promotional press conference at November 2017 the common borderline explored blocks between Iraq, Kuwait & Iran. He also invited the global companies to invest, participate and compete on the exploration, development and production from 9 borderline blocks.
It is worthy to say that the explored blocks are (Khudr Al-Maa, Jabal Sanam & Faw) which are on the borderline with Kuwait. While the explored blocks on the border with Iran are (Sindbad, which contains Sindbad 1&2, Huwaiza which contains Huwaiza southern, shihabi, Zurbatia which contains Zurbatia & Tariq, Nift Khana which contains Mandeli, Habeeb formation, Tal Ghazal, Hattab, Nazardak, Saadiya, Nift Khana, Aqaba and Nawdoman). He also confirmed that these blocks are on shore blocks. The offshore block is the Gulf block which is located on the Iraqi territorial waters on the Gulf.
