Iraq and Jordan Agree to Expedite Completing Joint Oil Pipeline

According to a statement by the Royal Divan, both sides called to expedite completing the oil pipeline.

Amman/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraqi President Fouad Ma'soum and the Jordanian Monarch Abdulla II discussed the security of the highway that connects the two countries, as well as the oil pipeline from southern Iraq to southern Jordan.

According to a statement by the Royal Divan, both sides called to expedite completing the oil pipeline.

On 9 April, 2013, both countries agreed to build a 1700-km oil pipeline with the cost of 18 billion dollars and a capacity to transport one million b/d.

Both countries had an agreement that Iraq would supply Jordan with 10.000 b/d of Iraqi crude oil, liable to be increased, but this agreement was put to halt due to the deteriorating security situation in Iraq.
