Iraq Will Resume Importing Electricity from Iran

The Iranian electricity exports will reach 1500 M/W, but this figure depends on the climate situation in Iraq, he confirmed.

Teheran/ Iraq TradeLink: Iranian Energy Minister Hamid  Chitchian announced the resumption of Iranian supply of electricity to Iraq after the payment of 350 million dollars out of one billion dollars of Iraqi debts.

He added that the remaining amounts shall be paid on installments according to agreed timetable.

The Iranian electricity supply was stopped at the end of the agreement on 31 December, 2016
