Basra/ Iraq TradeLink: Basra Provincial Energy Commission reported a proposal to buy electricity
from the available power generation companies.
Chairman of the Commission Mujeeb al-Hasani suggested the buying will be from al-Hartha Investment Power Generation Plant (100 M/W) which was stopped
production since November, 2016.
The current electricity production in the province reached to 2800 M/W, but this quantity is taken to the national electricity network, while the winter need of the
province is expected to reach 1500 M/W, but the summer time will consume more electricity in the hot and humid southern province.
