Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: European trade sources reported that Iraq did not buy an rice quantity for its international tender which was closed on 23 January, 2017.
Iraq made a tender to buy 30.000 tons of rice.
The Thai rice was the lowest in the bids, but, nevertheless Iraq did not buy, according to the commercial reports.
The traders expected a decline in Thai and Vietnamese rice, that led to the non-purchase, the sources added.
No Iraqi official cancellation of the bid was reported, but a new tender shall be announced soon, the sources expected.
