Iran Will Commence Exporting Gas to Iraq, 7 Million Cubic Meters Per day

Iraq will have to source the gas that is required

After a year of delays, Iran will now begin exporting gas to Iraq from their South Pars field and will consist of 7 million cubic meters per day for power generation in Baghdad with a second route planned for 2017 for Basra’s power generation needs that will consist of a total of 70 million cubic meters per day.

Some have argued Iraq can utilise its own natural gas, yet the failure to implement their 2005, “Gas Master Plan” will now mean Iraq will have to  source the gas that is required. By 2022, Iraq was determined to eliminate flaring.
