Gazprom Neft Badra has commissined its 10th oil production well (P-07) that will be installed in Wasit Province, Eastern Iraq in Badra oil field. Oil production now stands at 67,000 barrels per day and 6,537 barrels of oil per day are produced.
Three other wells commissioned in Badra oil field produce a combined 24,000 barrels per day while P-10, BD-2, P-14 and P-19 wells, are yet to be completed and will be be operational in 2016.
"The total cumulative production since the commissioning of the Badra field as of 20 July this year stands at 2.9 million barrels of oil."
The contract for Badra oil field was signed by the following consortium with the Iraqi Government in January 2010, Gazprom Neft (30%), Kogas (22.5%), Petronas (15%), and TPAO (7.5%), and will continue for 20 years.
The Iraqi government is represented by the Iraqi Oil Exploration Company (OEC) with a 25% stake.
