The Iraqi owned company, Dhi Qar Oil Company (DQOC) has received a $42US Million from the Iraq Finance Ministry. DQOC is a offshoot of Iraq's South Oil Company (now Basra Oil Company) and was created in January and will also take over four of the former fields South Oil Company used to operate in the Dhi Qar governorate.
Out of the four fields, Saba (expected to produce 30,000 bpd )and al-Amoud are not operational and Garraf and Nasiriyah produce 170,000 bpd and will be 200,000 bpd by the end of the year.
Two other fields not yet in production are the Saba field and the al-Amoud field. Saba is expected to come online later this year with an initial 30,000 bpd, while al-Amoud is being developed and there are no indications as of yet when this field will be brought into production.
