Indonesia's Pertamina Energy to Select Indian Refinery to Refine Iraqi Oil

Pertamina would require 290,000 barrels each month form a stake in West Qurna block and an additional 700,000 barrels from various Iraqi oilfields.

 Chief Executive Dwi Soetjipto of Indonesia's state-owned energy company, Pertamina, recently told reporters he aims to close a deal with an Indian refinery to process 1 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil each month, he stated, “it is better if we purchase the crude and then utilize a refinery overseas …why India? Because its geographic location is good.”
