Iraqi Oil Ministry to Enhance Gas and Clean Energy Investments

The Iraqi Oil Minister confirms increased gas and renewable energy investment plans to reduce harmful emissions.

During his remarks at the 29th Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference (MPGC) in Manama, Bahrain, Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail reiterated the acceleration of gas and clean energy investment plans.

According to a press release from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, Ismail stressed the importance of speeding up the implementation of free gas programs and projects in order to minimize reliance on fossil fuels, maintain a clean environment, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

He also mentions that Iraq is hopeful for the international oil market's stability, and is interested in working with OPEC+ members to develop common visions and strategies to address the market's issues, retain gains made in the past, and restore market balance.

The Iraqi Oil Minister emphasized the necessity of strengthening ties with close allies and striving to broaden cooperation prospects to serve joint goals.

Several oil and energy ministers, as well as specialists and officials from the oil and energy industries, attended the 29th MPGC in Bahrain.
