Gulftainer Sends 121 Ton Vacuum Unit to Iraq

A 121-ton vacuum system has been delivered to an Iraqi refinery by a UAE-based firm.

Gulftainer, a Sharjah-based port operator, has delivered the 121-ton, 35-meter-long vacuum to its Iraq Container facility in the southern port city of Umm Qasr. According to the official Emirates News Agency, the vacuum was built for the UAE-based Midland Refineries Company and will be used at an oil refinery in the Iraqi city of Najaf, which is also in the south.

Large vacuums can be used for a variety of tasks, including air purification and cleaning.

The company has recovered from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted the worldwide supply chain, according to Gulftainer's managing director for Iraq, Nic Gray.

He also added that despite the pandemic's hurdles, business has been steadily increasing, with the most recent shipment representing a crucial turning point for them.
