Iraqi Cabinet Responds to Citizens with New Reforms Amidst Protests

The Iraqi Cabinet, under pressure from protests, granted a series of laws.

The Iraqi Cabinet, under pressure from protests, granted the Minister of Oil permission to train and hire Iraqi graduates from the 2018-2019 oil vocational training courses to become employees of the Ministry of Oil. The following was also granted:

Reduce customs fees for plastic granules for industrial projects

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to contract 1,000 researchers to ensure projects are completed

The National Investment Commission to sign UN Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation

Carry out first stage of “Babylon Sewage Project” will commence along with Governor of Babylon, Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities’ Audit and Approval Committee

Laws to be drafted for the Iraqi Olympic Committee; the Council of Representatives will oversee this law. 

Ministerial Council on Energy will also implement projects on government and properties.
