XI Jinping, Chinese President Advises Iraq to Exercise Restraint

A delegation was held in China between the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Chinese President

During a meeting in Beijing between Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iraqi Prime Minister, Adel Abdel Mahdi, Jinping stated he believed disputes in the Gulf should be resolved peacefully via talks and all sides should remain calm and exercise restraint. “At present the situation in the Gulf region of the Middle East is complex and sensitive,” the report cited Xi as saying, without directly mentioning the attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities.
