Iraq and China Sustain Trade Exchange and Discuss Bilateral Relations for the Benefit of the Two Countrys: Oil and Gas

During a meeting between Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Zhang Tao and Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim who declares China as an important strategic partner of Iraq.  

The meeting last Sunday was primarily focusing on enhancing the bilateral relations and cooperation for the benefit of the two countries. The discussion also “discussed regional issues of common interest and the developments in the Middle East as well as Iraq’s vision for mechanism of a solution to end the crisis.”

Mohammed al-Hakim stated "Iraq is interested in strengthening coordination and cooperation with Beijing at all levels, as China is an important strategic partner of Iraq.” He also emphasized the importance of Chinese investments in the energy industry in Iraq. 

The relationship between the two countries is strengthened by the import of Iraqi oil into China as the second largest supplier and fourth largest supplier to China within the MIddle East.
