Lukoil have awarded a framework agreement contract for project support services to SNC-Lavalin for operations on West Qurna 2 oil field.
The scope of the project includes engineering, design and support activities for the development of Mishrif and Yamama formations within West Qurna 2. In addition the project includes the training and professional development of local Iraqi professionals.
SNC-Lavalin will operate the contract in Iraq from a base in the United Arab Emirates. Required surface facilities for the project include well pads, supply pipelines, water intake, additional storage tanks, export pipelines and processing facilities.
The contract win follows SNC-Lavalin's previous work with Iraq Ministry of Oil as well as other national and international oil companies in the Middle East. The company has 'delivered professional services and engineering on some of the worlds most complex projects' according to Christian Brown, President for oil and gas within the company.
