The Oil Ministry Awards the Faw Project and the Petrochemicals Complex to Chinese Companies.

The project is considered as one of the big exportation projects in Faw city- Basrah governorate in the south of Iraq.

The ministry of oil declared for the awarding of the Faw project which contains a complex for petrochemicals to Power China & Nerco Chinese Companies.

   Mr. Assim Jihad the spokesman of the ministry of oil said that the refinery capacity is (300) thousand barrels/ day. The project is considered as one of the big exportation projects in Faw city- Basrah governorate in the south of Iraq. It is also considered as a part of the plan of the ministry of oil to develop the refining & petrochemicals sector for the exportation purposes, which can strengthen the Iraqi role in this field and achieve big financial outcome to support the national economy.

   Mr. Jihad said also that the project contains an integrated complex for petrochemicals, in addition to another facilities near the exportation port in Faw.

   Mr. Jihad said also that the ministry of oil is planning to be self-sufficient of the oil products by making the investment project in the refining sector, and become an exporter country. He said also that the ministry may announce soon for an invitation to the investment companies to participate in the execution of the Anbar refinery (150 thousand B/D), Qayara refinery (10 thousand B/D) and Thi-Qar refinery (150 thousand B/D). In addition to other projects will be announced soon.
