Ministry of Oil News: The Ministry of Oil Signs a Contract to Supply Ninawa Governorate with Electricity.

By the presence of Mr. Jabbar Ali Hussein Al-Luiebi the minister of oil… the ministry of oil signed a contract with the consortium of Qaiwan international energy company and Maas holding company to supply Ninawa governorate with (875) Megawatts of electricity.

   Mr. Al-Luiebi said that in synchronization with the victories of the Iraqi military forces against the terrorist gangs of ISIS in Mosul city. The ministry of oil signed a contract with the consortium of the two specialized companies to supply “our people in Ninawa governorate” with (875) megawatts of electricity, and the ministry of oil will provide the necessary equipment without any need for financing from the ministry of finance. It will also provide the necessary oil products to execute the contract.

   Mr. Al-Luiebi said that the ministry was in the lead to provide the oil products and the necessary needs for the damaged cities. The ministry was also present in all the battle operations to provide the necessary oil products to maintain the necessary supply for the Iraqi troops, as well as the citizens in the liberated areas and the camps of the displaced people.

   Mr. Adil Khudhr the minister of electricity whom was present during the contract signature ceremony confirmed on the continuous coordination to provide the necessary needs for the citizens. And said that the ministry of electricity “which is a party in the contract” will do all their contract commitments by depending on their formations in the north of Iraq. And the contract signature during the current economic challenges is a big accomplishment because it will provide a big part of the people’s needs in the liberated areas, and the supply of electricity will speed-up the re-building projects and bring back the normal life.

   Mr. Assim Jihad the spokesman of the ministry said that the contract duration is three years and it will maintain a half of the need of electricity. The contract signature was done because the ministry of oil represented by the minister of oil directed to provide all the available support for the Iraqi people during such hard circumstances and destruction because of ISIS.

   He said also that the ministry of oil was able earlier to restart the Qayara power station after providing the necessary crude oil from Qayara oil field.
