Norinco Announces Plans to Build US$445 Million Cement Plant in Iraq With Iraqi Company, Jabal Bazian Co.

The multi million dollar deal will include plant production, line design, project management, purchasing, administration buildings and living facilities.


A new US$445 million dollar plant will be constructed in Iraq within 28 months. The project was finalised recently between Chinese engineering company Norinco International and Jabal Bazian Co. for General Trading.

Owned by Taher Mustafa Ahmed, Jabal Bazian Company is based in Iraqi Kurdistan and has partnered with Norinco— which has extensive experience in Iraq with the State Company for Oil Projects (SCOP), South Gas Company (SGC), and has participated int he UN oil for food program.
