Iran Has Resumed Exporting Electricity to Iraq, Has Also Paid Partial Debt to Iran

He added that Iraq pledged paying part of its debts for the electricity supply which reached to 1.2 billion dollars.

Teheran/ Iraq TradeLink: Iranian Assistant Electricity Minister Hoshing Falahatian disclosed signing a new contract with Iraq to export electricity during this year.

He added that Iraq pledged paying part of its debts for the electricity supply which reached to 1.2 billion dollars.

The agreement reached was its extension to 2017 and Iraq will pay 350 million dollars for the resumption of the electricity supply, he added.

Iran electricity supply was stopped due to the termination of the previous agreement and the non-payment on the Iraqi side.
