Iraq and Belarusian Delegations Meet to Discuss Transport Plans Between Two Countries

Mr. Finjan stated the purpose of the visit was to have detailed discussions and negotiations with Belarus

An Iraqi delegation that met on 21st January in Minsk with Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection announced Iraq would like to construct a railway from Iraq to Belarus. 

Those attending the event, which included businessmen  and officials, such as Transport Minister Kazem Finjan, diplomats and MPs discussed the proposal in more detail Mr. Finjan, impressed with the quality of Belarusian development stated the following, “Iraq is eager to conduct projects to build railway connections between regions, tram lines, trolleybus and subway lines, strengthen the trade and economic relations, boost the bilateral trade, establish industrial cooperation, and exchange experience.” 

Mr. Finjan stated the purpose of the visit was to have detailed discussions and negotiations with Belarus in order to propel projects and business between the two countries with the hopes to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries.
