Head of Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) Announces Support for the Arduous Task of Iraq's Reconstruction

This news comes as the head of ABL stated their combined assets of US$200 billion

Joseph Torbey, the head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) has announced recently that banks based out of Lebanon are willing to help the reconstruction of infrastructure in Iraq. This news comes as the head of ABL stated their combined assets of US$200 billion would be partially at the disposal for the project of rebuilding Iraq. 

Mr. Torbey stated members of the organization are “capable and ready to be a partner in the reconstruction, through direct finance within the legal ceilings and through the attraction and management of joint financing operations.” Mr. Torbey also added Lebanese banks were the first willing establish headquarters in Iraq and are amongst the most active out of all foreign banks in Iraq.
