Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraq electricity ministry's spokesman Mus'ab al-Mudaris announced that the Iranian energy ministry "stopped providing Iraq with power without prior notification."
He added that the electricity national network lost about 1200 M/W through three supplying lines in Diala, Missan and Basra provinces.
The cut off was due to increasing financial debts on Iraq which exceeded one billion dollars.
Earlier reports said that Iraq paid Iran one hundred million dollars as part of these debts.
Last July, Iran stopped supplying Basra with power, but the supply was restored after debts' payment, as officially reported. Source: Iraq Trade Link News
