Oil Minister for Iraq Announces Plans to Discuss Dissolved 2014 Agreement with Kurdistan

The meeting at the Iraqi Parliament for Gas Committee decided to increase its current volume of half a million liters of oil to Kurdistan.

Oil Minister for the Iraqi government, Abdul Jabbar Allibi announced at Iraq’s Parliamentary Gas  Committee, that he plans to travel to Kurdistan in order to discuss their 2014 oil agreement which has not been honoured by both parties. The topic of his visit will be focused on exporting oil form Kirkurk via Kurdish pipelines. 

Mr. Allibi stated, “it’s in our schedule to soon visit the Kurdistan Region to solve part of the problem over oil exports from Kirkuk, which until recently were exported through the Kurdistan Region because of the damaged Kirkuk pipeline…Since our understanding with the Kurdistan Region, part of the Kirkuk oil is exported via the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) KRG pipelines.”
