Mr. Jabbar A. Allibi the minister of oil met in his office at Thursday the 8th of September 2016 with the Japanese ambassador in Baghdad Mr. Fomio Iwai and his entourage.
The two parties discussed during the meeting about the mutual cooperation and the expansion of the participation of the Japanese companies in the projects of oil & gas in Iraq.
Mr. Allibi said that the next stage of oil & gas is going to witness a significant development by opening the doors for the local and foreign investments and by the associated channels & the partial and total investment. He said also that there will be big chances of investment to develop the oil production & gas investment from the un-developed small fields in the south of Iraq which needs to be developed partially or totally via the service contracts according to the forms and programs which guarantees the Iraqi benefit.
Mr. Allibi said also that the ministry of oil is aiming to develop the relations with the Japanese Companies and raise the cooperation with them, and said that the ministry has big strategic plans & ideas for the next stage to develop the oil sector. He said also that the ministry is working hard to solve the obstacles and present the facilitations for the currently working companies & the companies whom will work in the future in Iraq.
Mr. Iwai congratulated the minister of oil for the new office and wished him the good luck in managing the ministry and develop the oil sector in Iraq. He also confirmed that his country is aiming to develop the work with the ministry in all the sectors, especially the oil & gas sector.
