Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ready for International Aid to Ease $100US Million Deficit

"we have absolutely no problems with any conditions that (would) be placed on financial assistance given to us."

Global oil price drops have made it even more difficult for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to recover from the economic problems that have created a $100US million deficit. Kurdistan's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani has added that they are ready to accept aid, "we have absolutely no problems with any conditions that (would) be placed on financial assistance given to us."

Further adding to KRG's problems was the disagreement between Baghdad and Kurdistan regarding exporting of oil as an independent nation, causing Baghdad to stop funding the region. As a result, Pashmerga military forces have not been paid for the last three months causing desertion, ultimately meaning KRG's military forces are depleted.
