Iraq's Minister of Oil Opens Hammar Station in Basra

The Ministry of Oil Puts the Corner Stone for Two Projects & Opens the Hammar Station in Basra.

Mr. Fayadh H. Niema the deputy Minister of Oil in Iraq hosted an opening ceremony at the headquarters for South Oil Company (South Oil Company) to celebrate the Hammar station within the Zubair station with an intended capacity to produce 200,000 barrels per day. Also part of the project will be a new station for gas compression, water sweetening and power generators.

Both ENI and KOGAS operate Zubair station on behalf of the Iraqi government owned South Oil Company (SOC). The other plants, Rafydia that has a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day (and will start at the end of March), Hammar, which has a capacity to produce 200,000 barrels per day and Zubair which has a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day. Zubair station currently produces 360,000 barrels per day and will achieve 850,000 barrels per day in the coming years.
