The United Arab Emirates intends to invest about $3 billion in Iraq for new partnership prospects and to help the country achieve growth and progress.
This was revealed when Iraqi premier Mustafa Al-Khadimi went on a visit to UAE last Sunday.
The meeting between premier Al-Khadimi and some UAE leaders centered on economic cooperation and to find means to enhance trade and investment exchanges between the two countries. In order to boost cooperation an Iraqi-UAE Business Council will be formed.
Present during the meeting was Dubai ruler Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.
Areas of interest that may be foremost in the collaboration between the two countries would be that of security and defense as well as the development of sustainable energy.
