In a visit Wednesday in Baghdad of Jordan's Prime Minister Ayman Safadi, discussions centered on developing economic and trade cooperation such as establishing electricity networks.
Mr. Safadi had a talk with President Barham Saleh, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and his counterpart Fuad Hussein along with some other officials.
Discussed during the meeting were bilateral relations and the memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries. Both countries also asserted their cooperation in combating terrorism and shared information on the ISIS terrorist organization.
The visit also seeks to affirm the two countries' efforts in dealing with the current COVID-19 pandemic.
On deepening economic cooperation, Jordan's Foreign Minister reiterated their country's interest in activating trade through Aqaba, establishing a joint industrial zone, continuing with the plan to connect electricity networks and in building an oil pipeline between Basra and Aqaba.
