300 countries joined to participate in what marks the 10th year of the Project Iraq-Erbil exhibition which started Monday. In the opening speech by the region’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, reiterated the importance to focus on the economic growth of the region. “I hope that this expo brings together merchants, investors, and owners of capital from inside and outside the Kurdistan region in order to make and secure other sources of income than oil,” stated Barzani.
The Kurdistan region is ripe for investment and this event promotes its viability as a center for commerce in the region. The Prime Minister also stressed how crucial local support is required to encourage investment, business and projects in the region. The event will end October 3rd.
